Best online photo editor and online photo storage

From letting you review your photos before they're printed to automatically reducing red eye, digital photography has given us a lot. One big challenge: How do you manage the hundreds (okay, thousands) of digital images on your devices?

For many of us, using online photo storage and online photo editors makes a lot of sense. These services are free or affordable, and they offer organization and sharing options to make our lives easier. Plus, online photo storage can be a great way to back up all your precious memories.

Whatever option you choose, make sure you have your photos in more than one location. If your photos are backed up in the cloud, even an everyday disaster like a dead hard drive won't be a problem. And good news: printing photos from your phone is now easier than ever, thanks to these online photo printing services.

Asurion Experts provide fixes for all of our customers' tech care needs. Check out their rundown of the most popular photo storage services and free online photo editors to help you decide which one is right for you.

Google Photos

Google Photos app previewGoogle Photos is a free service that allows you to store your pictures and videos, and even better, helps you keep them organized. Your larger photos are automatically compressed to a 16-megapixel resolution and all videos are compressed to 1080p HD. The best part is the ability to access them from any phone, table or computer for easy sharing with family and friends, as well as the ability to create shared albums where others can also add their memories to the photo pool.

With Google Photos latest search features, your photos are organized and searchable by the places and things in them, with no tagging required. Google Photos also gives you the ability to edit your photos, from adding filters to cropping and rotating.

Amazon Photos

Amazon Photos app previewIf you've already got an Amazon Prime subscription, good news: You're already qualified for Amazon Prime Photos. This means you have access to unlimited photo storage, as well as space for 5GB of video or other non-photographic images (like PDFs). You can share this photo storage space with up to 5 people on your account. If you don't have a Prime subscription, that's okay – you can also purchase a 100GB Amazon storage plan for around $20 a year.

Amazon Photos is accessible through the free app on any phone or tablet, laptop or computer, Amazon Fire TV and even Amazon's smart home hubs like the Echo Show. You can also share photos with friends and family, even if they aren't Prime members.

IDrive

IDrive is a popular cloud storage option for personal and business use. It securely stores everything from important documents to your favorite photos. Their free plan gives you 5GB of storage, which is great for storing photographs. However, if you need more space, you're looking at $52 a year for 2TB or $74 a year for 5TB.

With IDrive, users really appreciate the ability to back up photos on multiple devices all to the same account. And even though it doesn't offer photo sharing options, IDrive lets you decide how you want to organize your files and photos (date, facial recognition etc.).
